When comparing rental cars offered by rate comparators, some display prices unbeatable. It is important to pay attention to additional costs.
In general, the franchise is exorbitant. It varies from 1500 € to 3000 € and can be reduced thanks to an additional insurance "that can offer you a comparator of tariffs, and which is never accepted by the renter", or if the credit card of the customer does not pass (and this is what happens in most cases) since multinationals no longer accept debit cards.
Before accepting insurance with your eyes closed, weigh the pros and cons and make your own calculations. Most of the rental agents are partially paid with commissions, so they will do everything to sell you the additional insurance.
By rejecting the latter, you will have to pay a deposit that will be returned to you upon return of the vehicle if no incident is to be deplored. Remember to check your bank accounts a few days after the end of your trip.
Before signing, remember to read the contract proposed by the renter. Make sure you understand all the content and pay special attention to exclusions and fine print such as (ice breaking insurance, underbody, assistance with a professional ....)
Most of the formulas on offer only include the basic package. It is therefore necessary to check what is included and what is not.
In the end, the low cost price displayed quickly becomes an excessive price.
NB : never pay the totality of your rental car on the internet, on the spot you no longer have the right to cancel it.
